CLASS DISMISSED:
THE BULLYING PROJECT

Theatre Three has created an original musical to address the issue of bullying in the schools.  The work focuses on bullying in the classroom, cafeteria, and schoolyard, with strong emphasis on the rising incidents of bullying via the Internet.  The play presents a range of scenarios and provides active solutions to the various issues.  Each performance will be followed by a question-and-answer period with the audience.  A detailed study guide is available prior to the performance which will give material on the production as well as follow-up activities and discussion topics.

- Marugerite Hartill, William Floyd Union Free School District, Mastic Beach, NY

" What an outstanding performance. . . . The silence at the end of the performance spoke volumes as to the impact on [our students]. I do believe these children will remember the message and try to be peacemakers, beginning in their families and extending into their local communities. Thank you."
- Sr. Anthony Therese, O.P., Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Lindenhurst, NY

"We of the Suffolk Y JCC Holocaust Seniors Group want to thank you again for your moving portrayal of . . . those infamous years. . . . Obviously, we were deeply moved. We thank you for that and for your sensitive understanding."
- Ginette Horowitz, Co-Chairperson, Holocaust Survivors Group, Suffolk Y Jewish Community Center, Commack, NY

"Concise, informative, and poignant. . . . The feedback . . . from both students and staff has been tremendous."

AND THESE, OUR FRIENDS
Now in Its 18th Season

In a serious look at the causes and aftermath of DWI, AND THESE, OUR FRIENDS brings to students a further awareness of the dangers and repercussions of driving while intoxicated. In a non-graphic,
non-violent presentation, the ply confronts both the responsibility of the individual and the community.

Six actors. A bare stage. A handful of props. Forty scenes. Forty minutes.

Save a life.

TESTIMONIALS

"Thank you all for the invaluable message that was given to us through your performance. AND THESE, OUR FRIENDS was the most effective, positive educational tool concerning DWI that I have ever seen! Thank you."
- Carol Newton Eberlein, District Health Coordinator, Rocky Point Schools, Rocky Point, NY

"Few words can describe how wonderfully the performance . . . was experienced by our high school. . . . The reaction from the students and faculty alike supported my theory that they would consider your presentation to be among the best tools available dealing with alcohol use and abuse."
-Louise Paruolo, C.S.W., Social Worker, Harborfields H.S., Greenlawn, NY

"Your two performances . . . were absolutely spellbinding. The creativity . . . the credibility of the characterizations and the diversity of points of view that were depicted on our stage can be described as no less than brilliant. . . ."
- Gilda Candela, Guidance Counselor/SADD Advisor, Comsewogue H.S., Port Jefferson Sta., NY

"We have had many different assemblies to encourage students not to drink and drive, but this had to be the most effective. The content of the play and the performance were so well done that the students could not have failed to be affected by the message. Throughout the performance, the students were riveted to the people on stage, and I could sense how deeply involved they were with the situation presented. . . . I have faith that your performance will save lives. . . ."
- Richard Volo, Assistant Principal, Earl L. Vandermeulen H.S., Port Jefferson, NY

"Your production of AND THESE, OUR FRIENDS was masterfully performed through its simplicity and hard-core reality. Satirically presented by a dedicated staff, AND THESE, OUR FRIENDS captivated the vulnerability and interest of the students. The stillness of the audience echoed their sensitivity which resounced in some very provocative discussion. . . . It is without a doubt that this production left an indelible impression. . . ."
- Alice Anderson, C.S.W., Division Avenue H.S., Levittown, NY
