CLASSES & CAMP - SUMMER 2010

THEATRE THREE DRAMATIC ACADEMY
Fall 2010

Our mission is to give our students the most interesting, innovative,
and exciting experience possible.

This includes invitations to special performances with a
meet-the-cast question and answer period.

CREATIVE DRAMATICS WILL ATTEND A PERFORMANCE OF OUR CHILDREN'S MUSICAL, SLEEPING BEAUTY. PRE-TEEN STUDENTS WILL ATTEND OUR 27TH ANNIVERSARY PRODUCTION OF A CHRISTMAS CAROL. TEEN AN ADVANCED TEEN WILL ATTEND A PERFORMANCE OF THE MAINSTAGE PRODUCTION OF DRACULA: THE MUSICAL.

ALL WORKSHOPS BEGIN THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 12 AND
MEET ONCE A WEEK FOR TEN (10) CLASSES.

CREATIVE DRAMATICS
AGES 6-8
Wednesdays 4:30 - 6:00 Pm
Tuition $150
Classes begin September 15
Instructor: Ryan Tazukie Fearon Teaching Assistant: Caroline D'Angelo
An introduction to the stage. Basic stagecraft and theatre games with an emphasis on developing acting skills through focus and self-control.
Final class:  Original Showcase Performance based on class work.

PRE-TEEN WORKSHOPS
AGES 8-11
Session One: Tuesdays 4:00 - 6:00 pm
Classes Begin September 14
Session Two: Fridays 4:00 - 6:00 pm
Classes begin September 17
Instructor: Evan Teich
Tuition $175

Introduction to acting: improvisation, theatre games, beginning scene and monologue work.
Final class: Original Showcase Performance based on class work.

TEEN WORKSHOP
AGES 12-15

Mondays 4:00 - 6:00 pm
Tuition $175
Classes begin September 13
Instructor: Camile Arnone
For all levels of experience. Basic scene and monologue work, stage technique,
beginning and advanced improvisation.
Final class: Original Showcase Performance based on class work.

ADVANCED TEEN WORKSHOP
AGES 13-17

Thursdays 4:00 - 6:00 pm - Tuition $200

Instructor: Camile Arnone
Advanced work in all areas: scene work, sensory and emotional recall, audition techniques, etc. Previous experience and permission of instructor required.
Final class: Original Showcase Performance based on class work.


THE FACULTY

CAMILE ARNONE  (Instructor) BFA in Theatre and BA in English from Adelphi University. Studied Contemporary Theatre in London through Hofstra University.  A produced playwright, she directed her own work, YOU AND I, with the Epic Theatre Co., as well as RUNNING INTO MONET at the Abingdon Theatre in NYC.  Other directing credits include ROMEO AND JULIET and ONCE UPON A TIME BROADWAY MET SHAKESPEARE. She has most recently been seen in CHRISTMAS CAROL (2009) and RING OF FIRE at THEATRE THREE.  Favorite roles include: Juanita in COME BACK TO THE FIVE AND DIME…, Rhonda in WOMEN OF MANHATTAN, Fruma Sarah in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, Celia in AS YOU LIKE IT and Felicity in THE FAIRY PRINCESS. Other credits include THE SOUND OF MUSIC, THE SECRET GARDEN, TOM SAWYER, ROMEO AND JULIET, JULIUS CAESAR, THE TAMING OF THE SHREW, as well as various original works, Cabarets and Broadway Revues portraying roles such as Kathy in THE LAST FIVE YEARS, Lilly in SECRET GARDEN and Mrs. Claus in SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD, et.  In addition to the stage, Camille is a Photographer specializing in headshot and special events.  Her website is ciaobellaphotos.net.  Working year round at Stony Brook University Hospital, she is a standardized patient, helping to train medical students in clinical skills. 

ELIZABETH CASTROGIOVANNI (Dean of Dramatic Academy)  BA in Theatre Arts, SUNY Brockport.  With THEATRE THREE since 1995.  THEATRE THREE performances include JEWTOPIA (LI premiere), THE WEDDING SINGER, THE PRODUCERS, AIDA, LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, WEST SIDE STORY, SWEET CHARITY, THE SOUND OF MUSIC, A CHRISTMAS CAROL, PETER PAN, THE WIZ, DAMN YANKEES, and JOSEPH (’95).  Additional credits include HAIR, THE LAST FIVE YEARS, SOME GIRL(S), FREE WILL AND WANTON LUST, STOP/KISS, A PIECE OF MY HEART, LUCKY STIFF, A PERFECT WORLD, OXYGEN, several staged readings, etc.  Featured on THE SINGING SCHOOL BUS DRIVER children’s CD’s and voice-over work for the documentary OVER THE RIVER … LIFE OF LYDIA MARIA CHILD.  Stage Manager A CHRISTMAS CAROL, 1968: ROCK THE WORLD (world premiere), FESTIVAL OF ONE ACT PLAYS (world premieres), and numerous Theatre Three Children’s Theatre Productions.  Directed RAGGEDY ANN AND ANDY, PETER PAN: NEVERLAND ADVENTURES (also co-author; world premiere), LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD, PINOCCHIO.  Theatrical Arts Teacher at Ivy League Day Camp; directed three productions; choreographed more than eight shows.  Currently Assistant to the Artistic Director at THEATRE THREE. 

Caroline D’Angelo (Teaching assistant) Second semester as teaching assistant.   Served as stage manager for children’s summer theatre:  CINDERELLA and PINOCCHIO.  THEATRE THREE Mainstage credits include 4 seasons in A CHRISTMAS CAROL (Belinda/Fan/Martha), THE CHILDREN’S HOUR (Evelyn) , BIG RIVER (Ensemble), and JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLORED DREAM COAT (Children‘s Choir). At THEATRE THREE, crew member for numerous shows including WEST SIDE STORY, LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, and GREATER TUNA. Other credits include LES MIS, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, DIARY OF ANNE FRANK, THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, A MIDSUMER NIGHTS DREAM, GODSPELL, STARMITES, ANNIE, OKLAHOMA, CAMELOT, and YOU’RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN. Directed one-act play FERRIS WHEEL.  Winner of  “Stars Award” for her performance in A MIDSUMMER NIGHTS DREAM. Training both Long Island and NYC. 

RYAN TAZUKIE FEARON (Instructor) BA in Theatre Arts, minor in Visual Arts, SUNY New Paltz. Worked in the Costume shop at SUNY New Paltz for three years and assistant manager for two. Member of improv comedy troop TBA; served as teacher's assistant, teaching improv at a college level. Numerous Prop Master credits including STOP KISS, WOMAN AND WALLACE and RACE MCCLOUD, PRIVATE EYE in the NY Fringe Festival (world premiere). Director for REEFER MADNESS and THE HARDY BOYS AND THE MYSTERY OF WHERE BABIES COME FROM, SUNY New Paltz. Performed in URINETOWN (Off-Broadway) with Momentum Repertory Company. Additional credits include COMPANY, OUR TOWN, PIRATES OF PENZANCE, IMPORTANCE OF BEING ERNEST, 'DENTITY CRISIS, and CAUCASIAN CHALK CIRCLE as well as various Children’s Theatre with THEATRE THREE.  

JEFFREY SANZEL  (Executive Artistic Director) BFA in Acting & Directing from Conservatory at SUNY Purchase.  With THEATRE THREE since 1989.  Appointed Artistic Director July 1993.  Director of over two hundred productions.  

EVAN TEICH (Instructor) BA in Theatre Arts from SUNY New Paltz. THEATRE THREE performance credits include JEWTOPIA (LI Premier), THE GRADUATE, A CHRISTMAS CAROL, THE PRODUCERS, JOSEPH (’05), MAN OF LA MANCHA including various Children’s Theatre & Touring productions. Additional credits include COMPANY, OUR TOWN, PIRATES OF PENZANCE, KING LEAR, URINETOWN, CAUCASIAN CHALK CIRCLE, ANYTHING GOES as well as RED MASQUERADE (staged reading) and the 2009 ACTING IV SHOWCASE (both Off-Broadway). Lighting designed the 2010 FESTIVAL OF ONE ACT PLAYS (world premiers), ONCE UPON A MATRESS & the 2009 SEVEN STARS DANCE ACADEMY RECITAL (both in Brewster, NY). Directed THE LAST FIVE YEARS & FUNERAL PARLOR (both at SUNY New Paltz) and NOISES OFF (Comsewogue High School). 9 years vocal training. Second year THEATRE THREE company member.  Additional work as a Standardized Patient at Stony Brook University helping to train medical students in clinical skills.
